Be like Christ

For a disciple, the ultimate desire is to be like his Master! 

➡FOLLOW Christ

* "For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should FOLLOW His steps!" (1Peter 2:21)

* Jesus said to His disciples, “If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and FOLLOW Me." (Matthew 16:24)

➡WALK like Christ

* "He who says he abides in Jesus ought himself also to WALK just as He walked." (1John 2:6)

* And WALK in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma." (Ephesians 5:2)

* "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me." (Galatians 2:20)

➡THINK like Christ

* "Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the SAME MIND, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God."

(1Peter 4:1‭-‬2) 

*"Therefore if there  is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of ONE MIND. Let this MIND be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.." (Phil 2:1‭-‬2‭, ‬5)

➡LOVE like Christ

* "This is My commandment, that you LOVE one another as I have loved you." (John 15:12) 

* "A new commandment I give to you, that you LOVE one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.  By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another." (John 13:34‭-‬35) 

* "By this we know LOVE, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoever has this world’s goods, and sees his brother in need, and shuts up his heart from him, how does the love of God abide in him? My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth." (1John 3:16‭-‬18)

➡FORGIVE like Christ

* "And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, FORGIVING one another, even as God in Christ forgave you." (Ephesians 4:32)

* "Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, and FORGIVING one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must  do." (Colossians 3:12‭-‬13)

➡SUFFER like Christ

* “We must go through many tribulations to enter the kingdom of God.” (Acts 14:22) 

* "For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps!" (1Peter 2:21)

* "For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to SUFFER for His sake." (Phil 1:29) 

* "Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will SUFFER persecution." (2 Tim 3:12)

Aaaaaaaamin!  May our Almighty God, through His Holy Spirit change us in ALL aspects of our life so that we may be more like our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ!
